Federal Labor says draft legislation to abolish
AWAs will be ready when
Parliament resumes in February. The
Chamber's Chief Executive,
Damon Thomas, says red tape has delayed the approval process for AWAs. He says if the law passes, AWAs lodged but not approved at that stage should still proceed. "So if there's applications lodged right up until the time when the legislation is enacted into law, those applications should be able to be processed," Mr Thomas said.
